I apologize for not posting anything for the past couple of weeks. My husband and I are doing a major cleaning of our house. It has been two weeks and we are not even halfway done. We had so many things to shred that our shredder broke. Luckily in the cleanup, my husband found another shredder. It's not a cross-shredder, but it's better than nothing. In the process of cleaning, I found 2 complimentary passes to Disneyland. They are probably over 10 years old. I wonder if they're still good. There is no expiration date on them. Hmmm...

It feels so nice to get rid of stuff! If it weren't for Marie Kondo and her book The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying up, I wouldn't have been able to get rid of half the stuff I've gotten rid of so far. I can't wait to get back to writing and drawing.

Our kids have stopped cleaning and have gone back to playing video games. Aargh! I'm going to get rid of a lot of their stuff after I'm done getting rid of mine... Heh, heh.

Okay, back to purging my junk.

  2. Hmmm I've been thinking of getting that book. Sounds like it could be worth it. Happy cleaning and weekend.

  3. It may be exhausting organizing and tidying up - but once it's done you'll feel so much lighter and happier! Good luck! :)

  4. Good luck getting things cleaned up. Speaking of which, I need to do that myself.

  5. It really is a great feeling to get rid of unnecessary clutter. My husband and I have been on a slow purge over the past year: clothes we no longer wear to the thrift store; old magazines to senior centers; books we won't read again, to libraries and thrift stores, etc., etc. We still have some un-cluttering to do, but so far the house feels so much more comfortable--and cleaner. And we can find things again! :-)

  6. Kudos to you and your husband on cleaning up. Me and my husband typically plan a big clean-up shin-dig, but rarely do we dig in and do it. We usually make a to-do list so long, we talk ourselves out of even beginning! You deserve a reward! Get thee to Disney! We just went and had a reunion with my sister and two brothers and all our families and had an absolute blast!
