Celebrate The Small Things - July 3

I'm sorry I didn't get the chance to post last Friday. It was such a busy weekend. My husband and I gave each other a high five after it was over, just because we survived it.

On Friday, we all went to the gym. I discovered I had lost my conditioner and the gym didn't have any, so my hair was a frizzy mess that day. At night we went to our friend's mixed martial arts fight at a casino. It was the first time seeing her fight. We got there at 7pm, but she didn't fight until around 9:30pm. It was past 10pm by the time we left. I was standing the whole time because I had a good view from where I was. This was not good for the foot I injured 2 months ago.
Walking through that casino, I was looking at the people gambling and wondering how many of them had gambling addictions. It made me sad. I know someone with a gambling addiction.

On Saturday, we woke up early for our gym's 5 year anniversary celebration. Our kids were given permission to join the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu seminar for adults taught by a 4th degree black belt, so we scrambled to get there on time. The kids didn't want to go at first, but they had fun throwing each other around.
There was a Hot Hula class starting at noon. It looked like fun and my friends were in it, so I jumped in. I had never taken it before and I wasn't planning on working out so I was in my street clothes. It was an hour and a half class! I wasn't expecting to sweat in there, but I was.
We went home, showered, then headed for the museum for a show I wanted to see. We were supposed to go to a birthday party that night as well, but were told that kids were not allowed, so we ended up just eating out and then heading home. Thanks to the Find Me Gluten Free app, we found a great restaurant near the museum that had a big selection of delicious gluten free items. Yay! Score!

On Sunday, we went to a birthday party at Jumping Jacks in San Dimas (Hello Bill & Ted!) which has a bunch of jumpers in private rooms for the kids to play on. The last time I was there I skinned my elbow on one of the jumpers trying to do some daredevil stunt. That was stupid. I still have the scar. Our friends' son also lost 2 of his permanent teeth there, so I decided to just chat with friends instead of trusting myself in the jumpers.

I managed to get a few pages of my picture book drawn and wrote some new ideas for my novel. I swapped the storyline for one of my characters and made it happen to my other character. Have you ever done that? It's sort of like a "wow" moment. I hope it works.

Have a great weekend!
What are you celebrating?

  2. Wow. That was a busy weekend with tons of ups and downs. I had to smile at the kids not wanting to go at first - they complain and then love it :) Yay to getting some things done on the PB!

  4. Wow - what a packed weekend! But most of it sounded fun, especially the hula class. Good for cleverly switching character storylines! Have a great weekend. :)
