Celebrate The Small Things - March 6, 2015

This week I finished my first sketchbook of the year. It's square in shape. I like to put whatever stickers I can find on the covers of my sketchbooks. I also keep the price tags on them so I can look back and be amazed at how much it cost. My reactions usually are, "Wow, that was really cheap back then" or "I paid that much! What an idiot! Never again!"

This is my favorite drawing out of this sketchbook:

  1. I love the cute stickers on your notebook - not sure I'd pay $12.95 for one though. The sketch of the woman is wonderful! She reminds me of a flapper era girl. I especially love how you made her hair blond on one side and shadowed/dark on the other. And that cleft in her chin is a fantastic detail. Have a lovely weekend!

  2. I like your idea with the stickers. In your drawing I see Marilyn Monroe, Lady Gaga, and Tippy Hedren. Very, very nice!!

  3. So was $12.95 a good price or a bad price?

    1. Ha, ha! I guess I'm a cheapo because to me, $12.95 is a bad price for that size sketchbook that can't even hold watercolor paint very well.
