Celebrate the Small Things - Jan. 16, 2015

This week I managed to sketch out around 20 drawings for my picture book. It was fun and it gave me a sense of accomplishment. I like the drawing style I settled with, so it was a pretty productive week.
I also got some good ideas for my teen novel and was able to work on that as well. Not bad for experiencing a dry spell of posting accomplishments for a month!

Actually, last month I did happen to finish up my year of face-a-day drawings for my art blog www.smallkeedtime.blogspot.com. It was very satisfying, but took up too much of my time last year. I’m still drawing, but I won’t be posting my artwork daily like I did last year.

I’m not one for resolutions, but I would like to finish my children’s book this year and find an agent. I also want to draw on postcards and send them to my friends and family this year as a little surprise in their mailbox. It has been on my mind for months and even years, but I’ve never done it. I should do it before we all grow old and die.

  1. Yay for 20 sketches in one week - that's great! Even if the face-a-day took time, you should still be really proud of accomplishing it. Good luck with finishing your PB and finding an agent!! :)

  2. Forgive my lateness getting here.

Kimberly, I love sketching and painting in acrylics too. I did Christmas cards one year. Several families framed theirs - it was exciting and an honor.... so you really might enjoy doing that.

I hope you'll display a page from your picture book - sounds exciting too. I love knowing when I've accomplished what I wanted to do.

Thank you for visiting my joke blog, "an artful blogger"- feel free to capture a joke and use it. Have a lovely weekend. I'll return!

  3. Yay progress! I think that is the most creative day challenge I've read, yet. I really want to develop my creative expression beyond just writing, and have been exploring other outlets. I am doing a few things, but I should define it, as you have.
    Best to you!
