A to Z Challenge: R is for Rai music

Other than pop music, my favorite music is Rai. It originated in Algeria, but is popular in France. It’s a mixture of music from different cultures. They sing in French, Arab, Spanish, and English. It’s great to dance to and work out to. Some songs have an R & B influence and others have that retro/Kool & the Gang type of sound.

Here are samples of some of my favorite Rai songs from the Rai n B Fever CDs that you can find for free on YouTube:

This one is in English and Arab: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M-2RsRmkqiQ

This one is by Amine who sort of sounds like Michael Jackson. If you know some French, I chose the clip with the lyrics written in French. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fYr84qTGceM

This one is a video of several popular Arab singers coming together to sing this very popular song (Abdul Kader) all in an Arab language. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vEdiqT_HtEw

  1. I've never heard of this music before. Will have to go listen to your links when I get home. Can't really listen to them at work since I work in a library. If you have time, and want to, you can check out my R post.
